I can’t believe I hadn’t posted this image much earlier, so here I am making up for lost time.
This was taken on one of those impossibly beautiful mornings on Cape Cod, when the light is rosy-gold and the air is as clear — and almost as tangible — as fine crystal. On those days it’s worth crawling out of bed not long after sunrise to savor how wonderful it is to be alive.
My destination was Ballston Beach, but one of the best shots of that particular outing came before I’d even made it to the car. This is Truro’s Great Pond, shedding the night’s blanket of fog and getting ready to greet the day.
