As I’ve mentioned before, I can’t draw (or for that matter, paint) worth a damn, which makes photography a great artistic outlet for me.
Still, there are times when I’d really like to capture the feeling of a painting. And there are times when I just want to have some fun with Photoshop. When those two things coincide, anything can happen.
This started out as a photo of an artist painting a landscape; my goal was to capture both the canvas and the landscape it represents. But as a photograph it wasn’t working for me. I wanted something a little more impressionistic.
So, a little fiddling with Photoshop to create a painting-like texture, and ta-da: a photograph that looks like a painting of someone painting the landscape in the background. A nice little visual joke for someone like me who is easily amused. I hope you are, too.
