Another spiral

I love photographing the textures of things, and I find that a lot of what I shoot is in extreme close-up (not technically macro, as I don’t have a macro lens).  There are incredible patterns, both in nature and in architecture, that we often don’t take the time to notice.

This beautiful ammonite fossil lives at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Ammonites are now extinct, but you can see an artist’s conception of what a living one might have looked like here.
